The cold is settling in

For anyone who reads this still, I apologize for my absence. The internet gods seem to have taken a vacation from the cold spell set upon northeast, abandoning apartment 2C of any signal worthy of a connection.

A coffee shop recently opened up on the avenue and I'm enjoying a green apple and hot chocolate. The weather lately has turned chilly and windy. I'm amazed on how windy it gets when riding over the Williamsburg bridge. My latest ride however, was last Monday and Columbia suffered a damaged pedal. There's a cylinder that the peg connects to on the bike. This cylinder cracked leaving the peg exposed and the pedal crooked, allowing it to come off the peg. It wasn't a comfortable ride for my right foot home.

I recently finished reading the Right Stuff. The read wasn't as good as Neil Armstrong's book. A lot of the information in Neil's book explained that some of what Tom Wolfe wrote about was exaggerated. Also I've seen the movie so many times that nothing really came to light from reading the book.

I'm now on another book titled, The Voyage of the Discovery. It's about the English-led expedition to Antarctica. I find it appropriate for this time of the year as the temperature keeps dropping, though not as extreme as the southern continent.

Wow, I just realized Thanksgiving is a week away and I'll be in Connecticut enjoying it with my family. I can't wait for stuffing and mashed potatoes. I'll fill you in after my vacation away from the city. Until then, keep warm where ever you're reading this from.
