And so we begin

The first destination on our road trip to Brooklyn took us to Kilmarnock Virginia, a quiet town right off the Chesapeake Bay. We stayed with our friends Will and Nancy Garvey. Will, who is a huge train enthusiast, built a city replica of Chicago in his garage. Their property lies on what use to belong to the Lees (Robert Lee, see Civil War). Sometime in the 1600s, the Lees settled on some 17,000 acres of land. I can't thank the Garvey's enough for their great hospitality. On our last day there, Will took us out on the boat for a little tour of the Bay. Too bad there wasn't any wind that day, still gorgeous though.
Our next destination would lead us 90 miles north to Dulles Airport where the Hazy Museum is, an extension to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum.
